To choose the best candidate, it is important to dwell upon strengths and weaknesses of each candidate.

Bob Anderson will hardly be able to work in the multicultural environment. He will need to develop new managerial style, which meets Acme’s requirements because the company operates worldwide and its top executives should be able to work in the multicultural environment.

Sreeni Gupta has insufficient experience for she has been with acme for three years only. She may face difficulties with establishing positive relations with her colleagues and subordinates. In addition, she may have insufficient knowledge of the organizational culture and specificities. She has stopped progress in the course of the last years.

She is unmarried and probably she is currently more concerned with her personal life and her career development and work in Acme.

Matt Dinwitty is a good candidate because he is success-oriented. He has made fast progress in Acme within six years only but he has the sufficient experience of working in the company to know its structure and culture. He has experience of working in large multinational corporations and he speaks Chinese. However, he is focused on IT technologies mainly and he may fail to succeed as the head of the non-IT-related department.

Sarah Jones-Rosa is a good candidate because she performs well and, what is more, her performance is above average. She has experience of work in Mexico. Therefore, she comes prepared to work in the multicultural environment. However, she has not obtained her master degree yet but she is currently enrolled in the master program that means that she keeps learning and has substantial potential.

Ling Cho has a considerable experience but her current performance is far from perfect. She deteriorates her performance and her success at the senior position is doubtful.

Thus, Sarah Jones-Rosa is the best candidate. Alternatively, Matt Dinwitty can take the senior position.
