Essay on Letter of Evaluation

To Mr. Shakespeare

Dear Mr. Shakespeare,

I am writing in regard to my evaluation of your literary works. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine whether your poetry deserves admiration. Thank you for the opportunity to evaluate your poetic works. As an experienced poet, playwright and literary critic, I can say that most of your works deserve admiration. I really like your tragedies Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, some of your Sonnets, your comedies Twelfth Night, The Winter’s Tale, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I recognize that you have the magic touch of nature. Your poetry is easy to read and analyze. You put your soul in your poems, and now they are alive. However, I argue that you lack art. In addition, there are many wrong facts in your literary works. For example, everybody knows the boundaries of Bohemia, but in one of your plays, you brought in a number of men saying that they had shipwreck in Bohemia, where there is no sea or river near, by some hundred miles. However, I do not blame you. It’s your choice, it’s your right. If you read my poem To the Memory of My Beloved Master, you will understand my attitude to your poetry and to your talent. “Shine forth, thou Star of Poets”, because your talent deserves admiration. I argue that “thou art a monument without a tomb” because the readers will always love your works. In your poem A Lover’s Complaint, you portray a young woman who is weeping at the edge of the river, throwing her lover’s letters, beautiful rings, and other love tokens. This situation is quite clear to both men and women. Love can be different: kind and violent, mean and fair. I see the woman’s nature when this young woman says that she would fall for her lover’s false charms again. Mr. Shakespeare, your works deserve admiration!

Yours Faithfully,
