And the fact that Nora decides to leave him, he also perceives not so much as a problem of relations between them, but as a problem that it would be wrong for the society. No certainty that he loves her, no request for forgiveness, even the slightest remorse, nor even understanding what he has done something wrong. In “A Doll’s House” Ibsen captures not only the issue of the complexities of relationships between husband and wife, psychic blindness and insensitivity, but also society, the product and the classical representative of which is Helmer. Nora leaves, because he sees a perfect deadlock. She endured this “doll house” and was a chrysalis for Helmer only because he thought it a completely different person: “I have existed merely to perform tricks for you, Torvald. You and father have committed a great sin against me. It is your fault that I have made nothing of my life. Our home has been nothing but a playroom. To sum it up, I would like to say that all these classical plays describe us different situations and different consequences. The unifying factor of this plays is human blind, which in different manner inherent to the characters of these plays. However, it should be noted that all of them found the courage to get rid of this blindness and objectively look at the situation. Oedipus blinded himself and opened a new insight to the life, Othello decided that he could not live anymore, and Helmer revised his views and ask for forgiveness from his wife.
