Essay on the art and culture of the Mali folk, the Maya, and the Aztecs

Talking about how or in what manner might a Florentine or a native of Madrid or Paris regard the art and culture of the Mali folk, the Maya, and the Aztecs (and vice-versa) there is one considerable point that cannot be unnoted. The current trend towards overall globalization is considered those. What does it mean in fact? Actually, dealing with globalization we are mostly interested in the concept of world cultural heritage here. This issue reached incredible relevance last years. Here is the quote from UNESCO World Heritage Convention to support this idea: “Considering that the existing international conventions, recommendations and resolutions concerning cultural and natural property demonstrate the importance, for all the peoples of the world, of safeguarding this unique and irreplaceable property, to whatever people it may belong”. In this order, keeping cultural heritage of any local state became the common task. Consequently, this legal approach requires significant regard to local cultural values from outside residents. Sharing and proper treatment towards arts from other cultures are also important for such fields as tourism and education. In fact, this approach is mandatory to get the tittle of civilized community, which follows the idea of cultural global integration.

Jenny Op den Camp claims in next way: “If extrinsic and intrinsic values are recognized as the setting for an authentic tourism experience and strongly emphasized in the management and planning process of the heritage, tourism development will be much more align with the local’s perception and has a chance to make them proud and empowered to present and interpret their knowledge to the curious outsiders” (Jenny Op den Camp, p.1). To sum up, people have to focus not only on their native cultural values. The prior idea here is the necessity of world heritage proper regard. Thereby, folk’s arts are just the part of one huge and global value.
