Illness Experience

In the current essay I will describe, analyze and evaluate experiences and concepts considering the illness experience. It should be noted that people tend to construct sense of self and identity. It can be said that the illness experience influences the activities, sometimes they disrupts and subverts it. Illness experience is indispensable for a person, which changes his life completely and disrupts activity. The difficulty and challenge of it is only known to those who experienced it.
It is essential to note that illness experience is very complicated and requires analysis of self and identity of a person, which will help to determine possible outcomes and find way out. The term “self” is used in psychology according to several meanings. In psychoanalysis, it refers to the idea of Donald Woods Winnicott has particularly distinguished the “true self” or “wrong”: The true self image means that the subject is of itself and which actually corresponds to what is seen through and an appropriate reaction. The false self designate an authority which was formed to adapt to a more or less abnormal and binding. The image is then in question is defensive and based on inappropriate reactions to the environment and is especially representative of a role he would have imposed, according to The Analysis of the Self.
Origin of the true self and false self. In developing the most common (not pathological), as the capabilities of very young children are progressing, the mother initially ceases to be perfect (for it). The child’s first experience of illusory is omnipotence. Indeed, his mother is perfectly suited to him. It occurs when there is tension or a need.
We can say that after active adaptation to ensure an environment as perfect as possible, the mother “good enough” actively adapts to ensure environmental imperfect, but not too imperfect progressing depending on the growing capabilities of the child who learns unconsciously that the world that surrounds him, there is something that makes life worth living. And baby makes the experience of reality: life well worth living, but everything does not happen magically as desired.
The true self is defined as: “”¦theoretical position from which the spontaneous gesture and the personal idea. The spontaneous gesture is the true “self” in action. Only the true “self” can be creative and only the true “self” can be experienced as real.” Only the true self is able to experience the potential space. It is in this that it is possible to play (playing), which corresponds to Winnicott’s health and is growing to encompass the entire cultural area, any creative activity. Actions change person’s perception of the reality, as well as the illness causes changes and often improvements in a person’s life. Evaluation becomes important and this boosts the person’s mechanisms that help him to get the most from life, as stated by D. W. Winnicott.
“There’s seduction of the infant who has to submit a false and “self” subject responds to environmental demands that the infant seems to accept.” Often people have the false self, as they are facing the events and then the consequences, without realizing what they really want. And when something unexpected happens, people make re-evaluation of what they really want in life, where exactly they want to work, what they want to do, and who they want to have close to them. Illness experience is very powerful and it makes people think and use their creativity.
