Industrial actions should be outlawed

There are a lot of debates around the topic that industrial actions should be outlawed. Some people agree with this statement, but another part of them have straight opposite position. It is even hard to see how anyone could deny that industrial action should be legal. In our case under these industrial actions I have in view workers right to strike. Why is striking topic so popular and should be legal? First reason connected with this fact is concern on notion that we are democratic nation and such industrial action is justifiable. The next reason is a result of previous statement and this is right because striking gives people freedom of speech. In such a way we have considered main aspects of our opponents’ point of view.

In this paragraph using one example I want to explain with it help that industrial actions should be outlawed. As for me striking can has inconvertible consequences which can make harm not only for employer but also for health and world around us. I understand that coming from these positions I should explain it. I’m ready to do it right now and I ask you to turn your imagination. For instance, let’s imagine that workers of dangerous industry will come to a conclusion that striking is necessary for their conditions improvement or salary increasing.

Internet source http://www.ansn-jp.org confirms that “in the nuclear power industry, any breaches of safety can have tragic consequences. If the employees are exposed to nuclear material, this could lead to serious illnesses such as cancer, leukaemia and radiation sickness. Radioactive material could also affect residents of the surrounding area, as in the case of the Chernobyl disaster. In the light of poor safety conditions, workers striking can be justified by the fact that the government and public would be informed.” Also as addition to this example I can give more approximate to everyday life example. I want to remind you that if garbage collectors one day decide to strike our streets will be full of garbage. As you know garbage is not only aesthetic spoils type of the streets, but also is a place where malignant microbes and bacterium like to live.

http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/61/051.html considers this problem from the position that “unlawful industrial action will be introduced if proposals on a draft Government Green Paper get on the statute book. One of the Green Paper’s proposals is that the calling of a strike with “disproportionate or excessive” effects would be unlawful and any employer of other business affected could seek an injunction against a union.

The draft paper says these effects might be defined as involving one or a combination of:
Ӣ Risks to life, health or safety.
Ӣ Threats to national security.
”¢ Significant disruption of everyday life or activities in the whole or part of the country.”

Thus, taking into account all above mentioned it is possible to conclude that industrial actions should be outlawed. I understand that industrial actions for workers is a possibility to show their opinion and gives them a line of protest against miserly wages or unfair hours, but it is not a cause to begin striking. All production questions should be solved within the framework of apart taken group of people.
